2K Sports MLB 2K7 : 360 Version Superior to PS3

US Gaming news site IGN recently had a chance to sit down with both 360 and PS3 versions of 2k Sports MLB (Major League Baseball) 2007 and came away suitably impressed….with the 360 version at least.

At this late stage in the development cycle, IGN noted some graphical differences between the two versions - notably that the 360 iteration displayed superior animation and crisper, brighter players on the field.

Another bone of contention is the PS3’s use of the SIXAXIS controller’s motion sensitivity to control the swing of the bat, commenting that it felt similar to refusing a bowl of soup from your restaurants waiter (a simple push forward of the pad). Doesn’t sound particularly realistic, especially next to the ’swing’ action required from some recent Wii titles.

Probably not of much interest to gamers on this side of the pond, since Baseball titles generally sell about 3 copies on release in the UK - but possibly of more interest to those who shelled out $599 for their shiny new PS3’s.

It probably wont be - given that Baseball games rarely sell more than 2 copies in the UK.
