Two new Lost Planet maps available

For those of you playing Lost Planet online, two new maps were made available from last Friday. These maps can be purchased for 400 points. I spent the weekend giving these maps a few plays so that I could give you the low-down and let you know if they are worth the money.
The first map is Radar Field. This is quite small map, very much in the same style as Dilapidation. There are loads of sniping points around the top but if you hang around there for too long you will definitely get sniped yourself. At the bottom there are many small rooms which are good for one on one fights. Many of these rooms contain data posts. When I first tried this map I was not very impressed but I have now begun to really enjoy it. You can end up with some very intense fights with many people bearing down on you at once. This is definitely my favourite of the two.
The second map is Island 902. This map is huge, and I mean HUGE. You can try to camp anywhere on this map and you will never be safe. Sometimes it can be difficult to find people on this map because half of the fighting usually takes place underwater. The size of this map really has to be seen to be believed. You can be on one side of the map with a sniper rifle and really struggle to see those on the other side, even when zoomed in fully. I think this map is too big and for that reason I am not a big fan of it. Too much time is spent trying to find other people and you can often be sniped by another player camping far, far away.
So are these maps worth the money? I would say that they are only worth getting if you are a massive fan of this game online. Otherwise I think 400 points is a lot for two maps and they don’t really offer anything new to the game. Let’s face it; you can get a pretty good game for 800 points, which puts it in perspective for me.
