Rockstar says Xbox 360 GTA IV will be best version

Yes, that’s right. Not a comment from some dodgy magazine or gaming site - direct from Rockstar themselves.
In an interview given to UK gaming portal Games Radar, Rockstar spokesperson Hosi Simon claimed the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV will be ‘the most complete‘. This follows on from earlier stories this morning that the title is 2 weeks behind on the development front for PS3.
Hori said…
“They’re identical games. We’re not hardware makers, and we’re not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want”
Perhaps slightly more controversial…
“But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose.”
Interesting comments of course. But being perfectly honest, I’ve never been a fan of the GTA series so this isn’t high on my wish list. After having played plenty Crackdown recently though, my interest is growing - slowly.
Where does GTA IV stand on your most wanted lists? Let us know in the comments section below.

When he said ‘most complete’ - he was talking about the 360 exclusive episodic content. Exepcted to arrive on Live! Marketplace during Q1 & Q2 2008.

GTA IV is the only reason i’m buying a new console this generation!
I’m an old gamer and generally would have been happy plugging away on my old xbox and dreamcasts etc. I’ve always found gameplay more important than graphics, infact Saturn Bomberman is still the most played party game when i have lots of friends round, but now GTA IV is coming out and i can’t hold off any longer and damn it Halo 3 too!
Guess i’ll aways stay an imature gamer at heart.

What a load of utter cr*p! Are you guys serious? Can you even read?
The guy is saying quite clearly that they’ve purposely made the games identical because they don’t want to be a pawn in the console war, however finished off by saying (rather begrudgingly if you ask me) that technically there will be extra missions you can buy on the Market Place that you can’t buy on the PS Store.
Just because Microsoft paid R* $50,000,000 to do a couple of extra mission packs doesn’t mean the Xbox version of the main game will be in anyway superior, in fact he’s stating the complete opposite!
I don’t know about anyone else but GTA games are so huge I get bored before I finish them, so unless the downloads are revolutionary I’m really not interested in paying more money for mission packs. I think Microsoft could have spent $50M much more wisely, but I guess they counted on this so called “complete experience” making it sound like the only version worth buying.
I don’t think there will be many PS3 owners rushing out to buy a 360 just to have a few extra missions in March, they will get the PS3 GTA, play the same game, then by March will have moved on to the likes of Metal Gear Solid IV that will be released at around the same time as the mission packs, so the idea of extra content will be a minor issue to all but the most devoted GTA fans.
Seriously I think Microsoft has made a huge mistake, $50M could have bought them a new killer IP - games like Halo 3 sell systems, not mission packs for aging multiplatform franchises…

@Deep_Pockets
I don’t want to get in to a flame war here as i’m not a fanboy, i’m just happy when good content comes out for which ever console i own but from someone who claims to be getting bored by an “aging multiplatform franchise” you’re sure sounding like a disgruntled fanboy to me.
“Just because Microsoft paid R* $50,000,000 to do a couple of extra mission packs doesn’t mean the Xbox version of the main game will be in anyway superior, in fact he’s stating the complete opposite!”
He’s saying that they are “identical ” but if you want a more “complete experience” get the 360 version, how is that “stating the complete opposite!”?
Whether or not downloadable episodic content makes it “superior” is up the consumers, i for one would certainly want it but i can’t speak for everybody else.
I’ve played GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas to the end and i’m hungry for IV, if you’re getting so bored with the franchise why are you getting you’re panties all in a bunch over it?

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Rockstar says Xbox 360 GTA IV will be best version, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
