Bungie goes Independent

With Halo 3 on the top of the charts worldwide, Bungie decided to make a signifigant move to allow them to “unleash” their creativity, and are no longer property of Microsoft. From what I read on their weekly update, Bungie is still in the family, they just wanted their own apartment.

“We’ll continue to make Xbox 360 games, and we’ll continue to make amazing games for MGS. In that regard, nothing has changed. All that has changed is that now Bungie Studios is once again, the property of the folks of Bungie Studios.”

Not that big of a deal if looked at as an individual deal, but with FASA closing recently and Rare not really making them any $$$ back on their investment, looks like Microsoft Games Studios are shaking things up a bit. What do you guys think?? They aren’t downsizing for lack of success, maybe making room in the stable for another developer??
