Xbox 360 predicted to run second to Wii in Q4

Wii on top
Analysis provided by Screendigest (http://www.screendigest.com/) has predicted the Nintendo Wii will be the overall winner in Q4, with the Xbox 360 running second and the PS3 trailing in behind. The predictions are based on the number of upcoming releases along with currently expected releases during the period.

The Wii has 86 titles inbound with 47 en route to the 360 and 38 for the PS3. Add to that the number of exclusives (a full quarter of Wii releases will be exclusive compared to 8 for the 360 and 5 for the PS3) and it’s fair to say that Ninty are really cranking up the distribution levels, at this rate screen digest have further predicted that

“the number of games available for Wii will surpass Xbox 360’s library in early 2008 at current release rates”

Obviously there is always the question of the quality of the titles, but with Dev’s reportedly finding it easier to port to Wii than most other platforms and still making sales, then it’s easy to see why they may feel an urge to concentrate production resources in that area.
