Should we get compensation?

If you used Xbox live over the festive period you may have noticed how unreliable the service was. Personally I had a torrid time getting into games of Call of Duty and Sensible Soccer or even just downloading an update for Assassins Creed.

Rumours are rife on the internet that some sort of compensation may be given to gold subscribers with an announcement expected very soon.

What was your experience of Xbox live of the past two weeks? How do you think Microsoft should make it up to us? Please post your thoughts below.

Well considering I renewed my membership and couldn’t use it the entire week I’ll be expecting some kind of nice gesture. I can’t help but think this could’ve been avoided though, seems like pure stupidity. They didn’t know they’d have more people logging in over Xmas Break??? If the network guys at Xbox still have jobs I wouldn’t know why

I couldn’t agree more. Surely Microsoft were hoping for this extra demand through xmas sales, so why couldn’t they cope with it?

I was staying at my parents house without an xbox for that week, so I’m thoroughly looking forward to receiving compensation for my mental turmoil and boredom.

I read yesterday that Microsoft are going to give all gold members a free XBLA title as compensation - no word on what the title will be yet though, confirmation due this week..

Yup, bout the same here really, my bro got a new gold account and still gets errors when trying to redeem it, and I have had no end of annoyance trying to download bits and bobs and when logging on it kept saying my friends were online but couldnt get the list up as XBL said i need to connect to it online, rather frustrating!

Apparently Microsoft have been taken to court over this issue and are not allowed to comment until the case has been heard. Therefore we might not get a resolution to this for some time.
