Halo : Contact Harvest
Found this little gem in my stocking over the holiday, and just got around to picking it up last night. Made it to chapter 15 before I had to sleep, really didn’t want to put it down though. Joe Staten’s first book kicks some serious tail. The prequel sheds light on certain members of the Covenant featured in the games, and does a great job of portraying Sgt Johnson as the Chuck Norris of the future. Lets just say after reading a few chapters I like him more then MC, and he deserves his own game. No spoilers, just know this is the best read I’ve had since Black Hawk Down.

Finished the book shortly after this article was finished, very rewarding read if you play the games at all. Its made me go back and play Halo CE all over again, listening to in-game chatter has a new realm of depth with the mythos fleshed out in the old noggin. they’ve left room in there for another book(or two), lets keep our fingers crossed.
