Rare has rebuilt Baradur

Xbox Evolved has many sources indicating that the classic N64 Rareware title “Goldeneye 007” will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade later this year, as well as many others.” Rumors indicate that Microsoft brokered a deal with MGM and Activision to get ahold of the Bond license, and from there I’m sure it was all handshakes and champagne. 007 was a great game in its own right, recognized for bringing First-Person shooters to the home console, it is by far one of the best games the Nintendo 64 had to offer, and the jewel in the crown of the once great kingdom known as Rare.

Bond gets the arcade make-over, online multiplayer and all, but what about everyone else?? We kind of know Banjo360 is on the way, so we could see his first adventures re-made. This is a significantly huge announcement for Xbox360 owners, because it may mean that Rare has finally begun to spread its wings after leaving the Nintendo Nest. Microsoft picked up Rare because it’s jam packed with successful IPs, they just haven’t had the manpower, (or the legal grounds) to unleash thier full potential as a developer.

Perfect Dark - This game took the mechanics of Bond and injected them with steroids. A memory expansion pack was required to play the game’s campaign mode, this one had all the bells and whistles GoldenEye didn’t ship with. Perfect Dark Zero lives in the shadow of this game, and an arcade remake seems inevitable with 007 getting the treatment.

Conkers Bad Fur Day - The first one, not Live and Reloaded. The only M-rated title on the Nintendo 64(me thinks), this title had it all. Humorous and interesting story, superb gameplay, and more curse words then a local truckstop. The multiplayer side was extremely robust for its day, with modes of play ranging from Tank battles, Hoverboard Lava races, and standard Deathmatches with Nazi Teddybears and chainsaw wielding skeletons. XboxLive Arcade was designed, nay - it is XboxLive Arcade’s Destiny to acquire this title into its ranks.

Killer Instinct - Ultra Combo. The single most important fighting game ever known to man is but a whisper, mention it and it will vanish. The time has come to make other fighting game developers cower in fear of Rare’s greatness, and Jago is tired of bussing tables for tip money.
