Xbox 360’s GTA IV may be region locked

Rockstar’s release of Table Tennis back in 2006 was one of the few 360 titles to be region locked. For those of you who don’t know - region locking essentially means if you buy a game in the US, you can only play it on a console also bought there. It’s been less of a problem recently, but for those of us who were around back in the days of the Mega Drive and SNES you’ll remember what a complete nightmare it became trying to get hold of the latest releases - usually at vastly inflated prices.
Most titles released for the 360 have been region free, meaning you can buy the latest US and Japanese titles from various websites - and in a reversal of fortunes, usually slightly cheaper than the retail RRP.
So it’s a shame that today, VideoGamesPlus have confirmed Rockstars second 360 title ‘Bully - Scholarship Edition’ is indeed region locked, a trend started by Table Tennis. Given this information, it would be a safe bet to assume GTA will also follow suit for the hat trick.
No cheap imports for us then….
